Serendib Scops Owl at it's day roost

I was very fortunate to have a very close encounter with critically endangered male Serendib Scops Owl at it’s day roost in the Kithulgala forest about few weeks ago.

Mammals in Yala

I spent 17th and 18th of February 2009 in the Yala national park and considerable number of birds, mammals and reptiles have been recorded. Here are couple of pictures how a Ruddy Mongoose posed for my camera.
